I’m part of Gen Z. And yeah, how we see the world, brands, and tech is pretty different from other generations.
We’ve grown up with the internet, smartphones, and social media, so we expect things to be fast, real, and meaningful.
If you want to reach people like me, your brand has to feel genuine. We care about more than just cool logos or catchy slogans.
We look for brands that stand for something, whether that’s inclusivity, mental health, sustainability, or social justice. If you’re only in it for profit, we can tell. And we’ll pass.
We’re also entering the workforce and starting to influence how businesses make decisions.
So, whether you’re B2C or B2B, it’s time to start speaking our ‘language’.
Grab our attention
We scroll a lot, and if your content doesn’t hook us in the first few seconds, we’re gone.
Short videos, memes, clean visuals, and messages that get to the point. Those catch our eye.
We don’t have the patience for long intros or big blocks of text. Mobile-first is a must.
Make it interactive
We don’t just want to watch. We want to do.
Polls, quizzes, behind-the-scenes content, Q&As, and even letting us help name a new product. It makes us feel part of the brand, not just a target audience.
Lean into video
We love video, especially short, snappy ones on TikTok or Instagram. But even longer stuff on YouTube works if it’s real.
Show real people, real stories, and don’t overproduce it.
We also pay attention to thumbnails and captions. Those little things matter.

We support brands that care. If you’re taking action on real issues and not just posting about it for clout, we’ll notice.
Be consistent, be bold, and back your words with action.
Be honest
We don’t expect perfection. If your brand makes a mistake, just own it and show how you’re fixing it. That kind of honesty goes a long way with us.
And then, what doesn’t work for us?
The answer is: Traditional ads
We skip them, if we see them way too often, we often block them, and scroll past anything that feels fake or salesy.
If your content isn’t mobile-friendly or doesn’t bring real value, we’ll move on fast.
